Golf store owner Mark May says that on January 31, without any warning, a peace officer walked into his store and served him papers ordering him to vacate the premises.
The order gave May just three days to clean up, pack up and move out. He says he had no choice but to put everything in storage until he figured out what to do. May says he left his cell phone number in a note on the door so that his customers could contact him.
One of May's customers, Richard Simonite, thought Mays had run off by his money, so Simonite called Eyewittnes Wants to Know. We stopped by May's fomer store. There was no note on the door and the landlord, who runs a used car lot next door, said he was shocked at May's sud.
The landlord, ?told us he had no idea May was planning on leaving. In fact, Khorsani said, May owed him roughly $1800. After our initial story aired, May reached out to us. He says he has since made contact with most,of his customers who left clubs on consignment.
?May says he believes he has paid everyone he owes or he has returned customers property which had not sold. May also says his website clubscouter.com is still up and running, and if anyone wants to contact him, they can do so through his website.
