After that, stroll along Nice's famed Promenade des Anglais. Cradling the Mediterranean and the waters of the Bay of Angels, this walkway is a popular spot for biking or casual walking. Many popular local events such as Carnival and the Battle of Flowers take place here. Enjoy some shopping on Avenue Jean Medecin, the main shopping district. When you're done shopping, choose from any of the nearby restaurants or bars to wrap up day one.

Day Two: Art and Culture

Nice has more than enough culture and art to satisfy even the most devoted art lover. Casual observers will still be impressed though. Start at Muse d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain to get a sample of some of the best-known works of art on display in the region from many famous French artists, including Manet, Monet, and Renoir. American influence is on display here too with some Warhol pieces. Muse des Beaux-Arts further showcases French art. Muse Matisse is dedicated to Henri Matisse and Muse Marc Chagall proudly honors its namesake. Once you're done taking in some art, it's only a short distance to ancient Roman ruins found at Muse et Site Archologigues. Wrap up day two by enjoying a show at the city's famed Theatre National de Nice.

Day Three: Day Trips from Nice

Now that you've explored Nice enjoy a day trip to small towns and villages easily accessible from the Corniche, a coastal road running through Nice and leading to many destinations in the area. Travel to Monaco for the day and enjoy first-class casinos, a collection of yachts, and the Grand Prix. Enjoy the historic beauty of Eze, a medieval village located on a hilltop that offers a stunning panoramic view. If you're in the mood for some glitz and glamor, take a day trip from Nice to Cannes. On the way back, stop by the quaint fishing village of Antibes or do some shopping and sightseeing in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the oldest medieval villages in the South of France. Wrap up day three with a cruise along the coast.
